Financial Analyst

Financial Analytics | Mid Level | Full Time

Location- Pleasanton, California

  • We are seeking a highly analytical and detail-oriented Financial Analyst to join our Corporate Development team. The successful candidate will support strategic decision-making processes by providing financial analysis, modeling, and insights. This role involves working closely with senior management to evaluate potential investments, mergers, acquisitions, and other strategic initiatives.


    The Work

    1. Financial Modeling and Analysis:

       - Develop and maintain detailed financial models to support corporate development activities.

       - Conduct in-depth financial analysis and valuation of potential acquisition targets, investments, and strategic projects.

       - Perform sensitivity analysis to assess the impact of various scenarios on financial outcomes.

       - Utilize advanced Excel techniques and financial software to enhance model accuracy and efficiency.

    2. Market Research and Due Diligence:

       - Conduct comprehensive market research to identify trends, opportunities, and competitive landscape.

       - Analyze industry dynamics, competitive positioning, and market potential of target companies.

       - Assist in the due diligence process for potential mergers and acquisitions, including financial, operational, and market analysis.

       - Prepare detailed due diligence reports summarizing key findings and recommendations.

       - Gather and analyze data from various sources such as Bloomberg, Capital IQ, and other financial databases.

    3. Strategic Planning and Support:

       - Collaborate with the Corporate Development team to identify and evaluate strategic growth opportunities.

       - Support the preparation of business cases, presentations, and reports for senior management and the board of directors.

       - Provide analytical support for strategic planning initiatives, including long-term financial planning and forecasting.

       - Assist in the development and refinement of corporate strategies and business plans.

       - Conduct SWOT analysis and other strategic assessments to inform decision-making.

    4. Performance Tracking and Reporting:

       - Monitor and report on the performance of acquisitions and other strategic initiatives post-implementation.

       - Track key performance indicators (KPIs) and provide regular updates to senior management.

       - Assist in the preparation of quarterly and annual financial reports.

       - Develop dashboards and other reporting tools to visualize performance metrics and trends.

       - Conduct variance analysis to compare actual results to forecasts and budgets.

    5. Collaboration and Communication:

       - Work closely with cross-functional teams, including finance, operations, and legal, to support corporate development activities.

       - Communicate findings and recommendations clearly and concisely to stakeholders.

       - Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external partners.

       - Facilitate meetings and discussions to align stakeholders on project goals and progress.

       - Prepare and deliver presentations to senior management and the board of directors.

    6. Continuous Improvement:

       - Stay up-to-date with industry trends, best practices, and regulatory changes.

       - Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement changes to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.

       - Participate in training and development programs to build skills and knowledge.

       - Share insights and knowledge with team members to foster a culture of continuous improvement.

       - Contribute to the development and refinement of internal processes and methodologies.


  • - Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field. An MBA or CFA is preferred.

    - Minimum of 3 years of experience in financial analysis, corporate development, investment banking, or a related field.

    - Strong financial modeling and analytical skills.

    - Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and financial analysis software.

    - Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

    - Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

    - Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

    - Knowledge of mergers and acquisitions, corporate finance, and strategic planning.

    - Experience with data analysis tools and software (e.g., Bloomberg, Capital IQ) is a plus.

    - Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.

    - Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think strategically.
